Adjusting to retirement can also mean social withdrawal. This shift in socialization can have detrimental effects on your health and is a key time for retirees to find new places for social connection. Go to our website generatorproject.org to see how you can take steps to avoid social isolation.
Today marks the 13th anniversary of the blackout on the North-Eastern Seaboard of North America. This event was the inspiration behind The Generator Project, not because of the energy savings that may have been achieved during the blackout, but what happened after the power went down. We connected. Face to face with family, friends and neighbours. We connected because when the distractions that we face each day are turned off we turn to one of the things that we crave as human beings…human connection. This campaign is about all of us. The Generator Project mission is to make the world a happier and healthier place by reminding people about the importance of face to face social connection in our lives and inspiring you to take action. Today, in memory of the blackout, we hope you will find time to Power Down and let the People Shine and join us for the next Generator Weekend, when we encourage you to send the invite that you have been meaning to send, to the people in your life that you have been meaning to get together with.#GeneratorProject #Face2face #Connection #Together #Friends #Family #Neighbours
